Despite ongoing troubles with his East Broadway project, local owner-developer Daniel Wise is now proceeding with a new development planned for Grand Street.

No longer an overgrown jungle of weeds, the zombie parcel spanning 330-332 Grand is, as of a couple weeks ago, fully reanimated. The Department of Buildings issued permits for foundation work last month; major construction vehicles, such as a pile-driver, have been onsite in the interim.

This particular job is more than a decade in the making, and first dates back to the demolition of the one-story row back in 2009. Wise purchased 330-332 Grand for $6 million five years ago (as 330 Grand LLC) with the same modus operandi of prefab condos, but it seems there is a change in the plan.

The revised newcomer is a six-story development now comprised of eight condo units (a change of plan from the prior twelve). However, there is no commercial component, according to Department of Buildings approved plans. The developer had initially teamed up with Brooklyn-based Think Architecture for the design, the same firm behind his other development at 201 East Broadway, but public records now show KURV as architect.
